Kuznetsova-Zvonareva win Aussie doubles title

01/27/2012 - Melbourne, Australia (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Svetlana Kuznetsova and Vera Zvonareva bested Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci to win the Australian Open women's doubles title on Friday.

The unseeded Russian duo of Kuznetsova and Zvonareva earned a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 victory over the 11th-seeded Italian tandem, capturing their first Grand Slam title as doubles partners.

The two-time Grand Slam singles champion Kuznetsova was an Aussie Open doubles champion in 2005 and runner-up in 2004. The former Wimbledon and U.S. Open singles runner-up Zvonareva is a former U.S. Open doubles champ.

Errani was a singles quarterfinal loser in Melbourne on Wednesday.

Kuznetsova and Zvonareva each earned $237,500 for the victory.

Brandon Roy Favorite to Win 2007 NBA Rookie of the Year

Adam Morrison, of the Charlotte Bobcats, was the favorite early on in the season after averaging 15+ PPG through the first month of the season. Ever since his torrid start, Morrison’s point production has declined each month. This really isn’t surprising, considering at 6’8” he only weighs 205 lbs. Obviously he will need to hit the weights big time during the off-season in order to keep from breaking down in the future.
